Kids and Teens Program

For all pool and beach, activities bring a towel and a change of clothes.  The program does not provide sunscreen, please apply sunscreen before registration.  Parents will need to complete a waiver form for the program, there will be one included in your registration packet or you can get a new one at child/teen drop-off. Each child will be assigned to a small group at registration. The children must stay with their assigned groups while moving throughout the hotel during the day. Each child will be presented a waterproof wristband on the first day of registration. They must keep the wristband on throughout their time in the program. All children must be toilet trained and able to swim independently. The children will be heavily supervised throughout their time in the program. Teens will be permitted to (with parental consent) sign themselves in and out of the program.  This policy does not apply to any of the teen activities off property (ex. Bike tours). If any teen decides to join the group for off-property activities, he/she must stay with the counselor and the group for the entirety of the activity. The programs do not provide sunscreen, please apply sunscreen before registration.

Welcome to Sonesta! – Ages 4-17

4:15 pm – Jasper – Registration

4:45 pm – Jasper – Icebreaker Game – Two Truths and a Tale

Get to know your fellow camp counselors by telling them two true facts about yourself and one lie. Guess which fact is a fable!

5:30 pm – Jasper – Group game –“A Great Wind Blows”

All campers will sit in a circle. A counselor will stand outside the circle and call out, for example, “A great wind blows for everyone who has an older sibling”, Everyone who has an older sibling must stand up and find another chair which is at least 2 chairs away from their own. Each time a group of campers stands up, a counselor will remove one chair from the circle until the last camper is standing!

Partner up with another camper to see how long you can toss a water balloon back and forth without popping it!

7:30 pm – BeachSand Castle Competition*

Compete in teams of 3 or 4 to build the best sand castle on the beach!

8:30 pm – Shade Pool– Dive-In Movie*– Despicable Me 3

11:00 pm – Shade Pool– Parent Pick-Up

Played like musical chairs, kids will walk in a circle while music plays. Once the music stops, each child will try to find a towel to sit on until there is one remaining!

11:00 am – Beach – Beach Survivor*

Campers will compete in various challenges like relay races and tug of war to determine the strongest and the smartest!

12:30 pm – County Foyer – Lunch

1:00 pm – Jasper – Indoor Movie – Tarzan

3:00 pm – Mid-IslandTreasure Hunt

Follow the clues around the resort property to find the buried treasure!

Campers will be split into two large groups. Each team will dig a small trench in the sand from one point to another and fill it with water. Once filled, each team will place a toy boat at the starting point and let it go. The first boat to reach the other side of the trench wins!

Hilton Head Island Exploration – Ages 11-17

8:45 am – Coligny Beach ParkBike Tour

Explore some of the sights and local shops that Hilton Head’s south end has to offer! Parents should be advised to bring money with the teens if they wish to purchase anything at Coligny Plaza. The idea for this activity is primarily to explore Coligny Beach Park and the surrounding area on the South End of Hilton Head Island. The group will make a quick stop at Coligny Plaza to walk around and visit a few local shops, but the shopping will not be the main attraction.
